Hiring A Photographer For Your Child

By Stacey Burt

It is time for your child to graduate from high school but there is one task that has not yet been completed. Senior pictures must be taken by a Green Bar WI photographer and soon so your friends and family will be able to receive striking photos of your child along with her graduation announcement. Select a photography professional who will be able to envision exactly what you want for your teen.

The student should bring several choices of outfits to the session. They should include both casual and formal wear. Don't forget that full length shots will require shoes to be worn. Plus, matching accessories and hair items will be necessary to complete her looks. She may want to get her hair styled for the formal sessions first and have her tresses return back to their natural look for later, more casual shoots.

Add special props for more impact. Select the types that are related to her interests. She can bring along such items as a musical instrument or a symbol of a club she belongs to. If she is in sports, have her dress the part and shoot photos of her in a basketball uniform, volleyball uniform or even a swimsuit if she is on the swim team. Cheerleaders should take shots at the actual school or even before, after or during a big game.

If anyone you know is good with makeup, please invite her to the shoot. A touch of the right colors to the contours of her face can make all the difference in the world. Flaws can be hidden and the best features of the subject brought out to produce outstanding photos. It will also give the subject more confidence and she will feel much more attractive, resulting in quality proofs.

Ask the photographer to take special care in ensuring that the photos are as natural as possible. Give the professional some background on the student so he will have a general idea of what she is all about. And don't just have color shots taken. Black and white or sepia photos can be quite appealing and bring out details that may be missed in color photographs.

Your teen's personality and charisma should shine through on these once-in-a-lifetime photos. The family will have a record of her high school years on hand that can be pulled out and reviewed often. Special frames can be purchased so the photos can be displayed around the living areas of the home.

Ask the photographer to take unexpected and unplanned shots of your graduating student. Sometimes it is these poses that are the most authentic and the most appealing.

If you have many relatives and friends who live in other parts of the country, be sure to select poses that reflect the area in which you live. The wintry landscape and green spring landscape can become part of the photos as backdrops. You can also ask that school colors be featured with the plainer backgrounds for formal shots.

High school photos are important especially in the last year of school. Taking special care and time in selecting a professional photographer and the settings for the pictures will give you a quality outcome that can be viewed for years to come.
