Basic Concepts From Marketing Training Courses

By Marci Nielsen

Marketing is all about knowing how to bring the product or service over to the customer and make the customer be happy to accept it in order to form a bond with the business who made it. Unlike the olden times when people did not have very strong spending power, these days businesses are more consumer based because of how the world operates on needs and wants. Of course if one would want to come out on top, then he would need to learn basic concepts from marketing training courses.

This is quite a complicated art to study because it is not only about knowing business but it is about knowing people and how their minds work. So if one would want to become a successful marketer, he has to know how the human brain functions. So if one would want to go into the field full of people who are potential customers, then he has to know of the certain principles behind consumer behavior.

The first thing that one should do would be to engrave into his head that in general, the customer is always right. Always remember that businesses would need to please the consumers if they would want to get sales. Of course money would be the reward the consumers would give for their job well done.

Now once one has already developed that kind of mindset, then the next thing to do would be to learn the theoretical concepts. First on the list would be market segmentation as this is one of the most primary of all concepts that one should be learning. Now the principle of this concept would be to always target a certain group or groups of people when pushing a product or service or when deciding strategies.

Now in order to segment a certain group of people, one may actually use demographics to know what kind of product will be good for what kind of person. Demographics would include age, gender, ethnicity, religion, income bracket, and educational attainment. This is used to group people so that one will know what kind of strategy he will use in order to push his product or his service.

Once going through the demographic profile is done, then the next thing to think about would be the psychographic one. Now unlike the demographic profile, the psychographic is more specific and well put into consideration the behavioral patterns of the target segment. This is more specific than the demographics and would allow marketers know how the target would move.

Now another very important concept that one should take note of is the product life cycle. As the name implies, it is a graph that would indicate the life expectancy of a product. The life expectancy is made of the start, the elevation stage, the plateau, the decline, and of course the end.

Now these are just some of the basic things to know. If one would really want to know everything that there is to know, then he should take up the course. There are so many more things that he can learn through these kinds of lessons.
