5 Places You Need A Lockable Storage Box

By Jillian Adams

We all need to keep certain items protected. Using a lockable storage box to help you do so has many benefits. Many are portable, extra strong, and very convenient to use. And here are five fabulous places you can use them.

Having a place to securely keep items in your car or truck is a must. This can be of particular importance if they are supplies for an emergency situation. By placing them in a box they are sure to be exactly where they should be when you need them the most. If you have equipment you need to travel around with, a plastic lockable storage box will keep it from getting wet or stolen if you take it out and make it easier to carry.

Most people would probably say that the bathroom is the last place they would need to keep things locked up, and they'd be wrong. The bathroom is where most of us store our medicine. By using a lockable medicine storage box in the bathroom you can keep pills out of the hands of young children and help to ensure their safety. Owning one can also be very important if you live with someone who has a history of addiction.

What is there to lock up in the backyard? Quite a lot actually. Tools and just about all landscaping supplies are best kept where only certain people have access. A large lockable storage box made from plastic such as deck box is usually the top choice for this. They can be left out year-round and are cheaper than buying a shed.

The bedroom is an ideal spot to use a box. A small metal lockable storage box is usually the best choice. It can easily be hidden from view and will make sure your important documents stay as safe as possible and where you can get to them quickly. Many people will also use one made from metal to keep cash or even handguns in the bedroom.

The basement of a home is just about always used to keep extra things. Standard bins and boxes are usually used here, but these are almost always weaker and less durable than locking varieties. Something like a heavy duty tote of course can be locked but also will be able to hold much heavier items. You'll need to go with something plastic if your basement has flooding or moisture problems.

If you own a lockable storage box already or are thinking about investing in one, these are some of the places that you'll want to think about using it. Be sure to keep the suggestions above in mind as well since there are many different types, and some may work better in certain areas than others.
