Tips On How To Sucessfully Protect Yourself When Danger Strikes

By Steevon C Barber

The person attacked me with a knife, but I had the edge, I figured. I possessed self-defense spray. I could beat him even from ten feet away. He doesn't possess any chance. All I would need to do was watch him hit the ground, and then coolly have my mobile phone out and contact 911. I blasted at his face.

I missed. I promptly fired once again. This time, I hit him, and he and the knife dropped, screaming, and keeping his face. If I had missed once more, he'd have quickly stabbed me dead. I told myself I had better discover how to practice using defense spray before I get myself killed next time.

Using self-defense spray is less dangerous than looking to fight back. It gives you time to flee and go contact the police.

That is merely because hardly anyone can take the burning pain in the eyes and on the skin which pepper spray causes. It does not matter exactly how big your aggressor is. He will hit the ground, however he'll not be killed or permanently hurt.

Having a pepper spray, you don't need to get close to your enemy, which is risky. Given that you can miss your own target, as well, you need training.

Right after I was attacked, I figured out on the Net exactly how pepper spray training operates. To start, I obtained a practice spray filled with water so I would not harm any individual accidentally.

You shut your eyes, and become accustomed to snatching your own device and also getting into firing stance fast. You then practice shooting at a life-size photograph of a face from a distance of five to ten feet away. Fire for two to three seconds, and then take a step back as well as to the side. Of course, if you're attacked for real, right after firing, you run.

It is a great thing I discovered how to practice using pepper spray just before another person came charging at me using a knife again. If that ever happens, this time, I will watch him go down. And then I'll coolly grab my own cell phone and get in touch with 911.
