Using A Flashlight Defense Spray For Defense From An Aggressor

By Jamison C Sheets

I walked quickly, my own hand grasping the flashlight defense spray my sweetheart, Stan, had gifted me. The next street lamp was several feet away, but that just emitted a weak light. My own fingers kept playing with the switch therefore I virtually dropped the gadget the second a large guy moved in front of my path. A small knife glinted within his hand.

My instinct was to shout the moment I recalled the pepper spray. Well, this is non-fatal so here it goes, I stated to myself. I lifted the hat to trigger the bright LED light. The guy quickly protected his own eyes from the glare, and it was my opportunity. I pressed the actuator and sprayed.

The camouflaged pepper spray caught the section of his face not covered by his hand. He screamed in pain as this hit his eyes. They say the results are immediate, yet short-term. He started rubbing his face, most likely because of the burning sensation. And very soon, he started to cough uncontrollably.

I recall Stan saying the effects should fade away after around 45 minutes, tops. And I shouldn't be bothered because it won't result in long-term damage. As soon as I saw he was not about to recuperate yet, I scurried away and ran, my hands cold, my heart beating.

As soon as I was sure of my personal safety, I slowed down and checked out the Mace Pepper Gel Night Defender, still in my trembling hand. Stan would be worried yet proud of me right after what happened. I was quite proud of myself, also.

Although its effective range is up to 18 feet, my would-be attacker was most likely just five feet far from me. I believed the effect of the two-second burst I let loose would be pretty potent. That means I've got about at least 10 more to go, in case of a next time.

I am really thankful Stan insisted I take a pepper spray for protection as it really came in handy today.

My other lady pals will absolutely find the flashlight Mace spray useful after they hear about my experience.
